“FAQs About Our Factory, Distribution, and Commercial Services”

These FAQs address common questions from commercial clients, designers, and partners working with our West Nyack facility and distribution team.

We specialize in restoring and fabricating a wide range of furniture and architectural elements. Restoration includes antique, mid-century, and designer pieces—such as Baker lounges, Henredon frames, and heirloom dining chairs—handled with precision and respect for their original character. On the custom side, our team builds everything from bespoke furniture frames and upholstered kitchen banquettes to wall panels, bed frames, and full cabinetry systems. Whether you’re reviving a legacy piece or designing something entirely new, we tailor every detail to your vision, space, and materials.

Yes. We offer professional pickup and delivery for upholstery, restoration, and custom builds. For clients in the Fort Lee area, pickup and delivery are provided at no additional cost. For locations outside our immediate zone—including NYC, Westchester, Bergen, Rockland, and surrounding areas—a small delivery fee may apply, based on distance and project scope. Our White Glove Delivery includes protective wrapping, in-home placement, and final inspection, ensuring each piece arrives safely and is positioned with care.

Project timelines vary depending on the scope, materials, and current workshop volume. Most standard upholstery jobs—like cushion replacement or chair reupholstery—are completed within 2 to 4 weeks. Restoration projects involving structural repair, refinishing, or specialty materials may take longer, typically 4 to 6 weeks. Custom builds such as banquettes, bed frames, or cabinetry are scheduled based on design complexity and fabrication needs. During your consultation, we’ll provide a clear timeline and keep you updated throughout the process.

Restoration focuses on preserving and reviving the original structure, materials, and character of a piece. This may include frame repair, joint reinforcement, reupholstery, and selective finish correction—especially for antiques or designer furniture where authenticity matters. Refinishing, on the other hand, is a surface-level process that involves stripping, sanding, staining, painting, or sealing to refresh the appearance. It’s ideal for updating color, sheen, or texture without altering the core build. At First Class, we often combine both approaches to ensure each piece is structurally sound and visually timeless.

Yes. We stand behind the craftsmanship and materials used in every First Class project. Most upholstery and restoration work includes a limited service guarantee, covering workmanship and structural integrity for a defined period. Custom builds—such as banquettes, bed frames, or cabinetry—may include extended coverage depending on materials and usage. During your consultation, we’ll outline warranty terms, care recommendations, and what’s covered. If any issue arises post-installation, our team is committed to resolving it promptly and professionally.

We’re here for you long after delivery. If your piece requires a repair, adjustment, or touch-up—whether due to wear, transport, or environmental changes—just reach out to our team. We’ll assess the issue, schedule a service visit if needed, and provide a clear plan for resolution. Minor touch-ups may be handled on-site, while more involved repairs can be brought back to our workshop. Edison oversees structural evaluations, and Jesse handles finish and upholstery corrections. Our goal is to keep your piece looking and performing at its best.

At First Class Upholstery, we don’t just restore furniture—we preserve legacy, elevate design, and build trust through craftsmanship. What sets us apart:
• Multi-Generational Expertise: Our team blends decades of hands-on experience with modern techniques, ensuring every piece is treated with care and precision.
• Custom Fabrication: From banquettes and bed frames to wall panels and cabinetry, we build from scratch—tailored to your space, style, and function.
• White Glove Delivery: We offer in-home placement, final inspection, and post-installation support, ensuring your piece arrives safely and is positioned with care.
• Digital Precision: Our process is backed by a modular digital architecture, allowing for seamless communication, project tracking, and scalable service delivery.
• Team Transparency: You’ll know who’s working on your piece—whether it’s Edison handling structural integrity or Jesse refining upholstery details.
We don’t just deliver furniture. We deliver confidence, clarity, and craftsmanship—every time.
